The brand makes bean-to-bar chocolate using raw organic cacao, preserving the naturally stimulating and mood-lifting qualities of the cacao bean that are typically lost in mass production. Mr Popple's sources its cacao from a farmers' cooperative in Peru, paying a fair price directly to the growers. The cacao itself is grown organically within the Amazon Rainforest — its natural habitat — meaning no trees are cleared to cultivate it. Every bar is wrapped in fully compostable, plastic-free packaging, and the recipes are kept free from refined sugars, cheap fats, and palm oil, relying instead on high-quality, nutritionally rich ingredients. What sets Mr Popple's apart is the deliberate decision to keep the operation small and hands-on. Rather than scaling up at the expense of quality or ethics, the brand maintains direct relationships with its cooperative farmers in Peru and retains full oversight of the bean-to-bar process. This means each batch of chocolate reflects a genuine understanding of the cacao's origin, its natural properties, and the communities behind it — a level of care that is simply not possible at industrial scale.
